STEVE MCMURRAY

FOUNDER OF ST. MARY’S RESTAURANT & BAR

Steve has been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, his love for fine food and the Jamaican culture is how he founded St. Mary’s. Steve serves the best and rich taste of Jamaican food there is to be served.

Located in Charles Village, St.Marys Restaurant & bar is a purveyor of fine Authentic Jamaican Cuisine.

St.Marys Restaurant & bar has been a part of the Charles Village Community for over 15 years. Named after Saint Mary Parish,  Jamaica. Where some of the most noteworthy figures in reggae music such as Capelton, Lady Saw, Ninja Man, Sizzla,  and Tanya Stephens. Other notable residents of St. Mary parish include bestselling author Colin Simpson, who is the great-great grandson of noted slavery abolitionist James Phillippo, and acclaimed music producer Chris Blackwell who is credited with "discovering" Bob Marley.

Come enjoy drinks and music in an inviting atmosphere.  We want to embrace todays Charles Village with that same spirit of inclusiveness and community.   Steve have long wanted to open a Jamaican restaurant that would have a positive impact on the neighborhood's culinary landscape and its community at large.

We want to share the story of Jamaica with our guests, and offer a platform to celebrate local artists, musicians and culinary talents.  We aim to play a role in the future of Baltimore, by hiring our family of staff from within the community; inspiring better eating through neighborhood cooking classes; and buying from local purveyors.

Charles Village  is a unique and historically rich neighborhood that we are honored to be part of.  We invite you to please join us in Charles Village and share the culture of Jamaica at St Mary's Restaurant. St. Mary's is not just a restaurant, It's a Destination.
